Early Kick Off Breakfast club
Our breakfast club, which has been a popular and valued provision since its establishment in 2016, has always been offered to all pupils free of charge. However, due to recent budget constraints, the school leaders and governors have had to make some difficult decisions regarding its sustainability.
While we are grateful for the generous support from the Huddersfield Town Foundation in subsidising the food costs, the significant expenses associated with staffing the breakfast club have become increasingly challenging to cover, which has resulted in the need to introduce a nominal charge to ensure the continued operation of this beneficial service.
Effective from September 2024, a charge of £2 per child will be implemented for attendance at the breakfast club, with a maximum charge of £5 per family per day. This adjustment has been carefully considered to minimize the impact on families while addressing the financial pressures faced by the school.
I must emphasise that the early kick-off breakfast club will remain free for families eligible for free school meals (pupil premium), as we are committed to supporting those in need within our school community. We understand the importance of providing a nurturing environment and essential services to all our children and families, regardless of their financial circumstances.
To book a place this can be done via Parentpay.
Doors open at 8:00 am and children are offered a breakfast comprising of cereals and toast.
Children then help to tidy the toys away and head to class at 8:35 am, ready for the start of the school day.
